My ex cancelled our premium duo: how do I switch to premium?

Dear team, 

I just received the email indicating my ex cancelled our premium duo account (he is the administrator). When clicking on the link included in the email to subscribe on my own it only redirects to spotify free. 
Do I have to go through free to be able to subscribe to premium? Do I need to wait the end of the month and the end of the Duo account to access the premium subscription? Will I lose my playlists, downloaded songs, access to the playlists he administrated and gave me access to? 

The breakup is hard enough, music helps me in the process, I would be grateful to receive clear indications on the procedure.

Hey @MarinaLatAm7, thanks for reaching out to the Community!

I am sorry to hear about that. I'll be glad to guide you through the process of changing plans. 

When the owner of the Premium Duo plan cancels the subscription, both his and your account will automatically switch to Spotify Free. From there, you're able to subscribe to a new plan here.

 

Once you subscribe, you will get a confirmation email and you'll be able to start using your Premium features right away.

Thanks a lot Billy-J, it already helps a lot! Can you please confirm that when the month ends and the spotify account switches back to free I will keep my playlists? I will get a premium account right away but I am concerned that the time it takes to do it will make me loose data.

You’re welcome! 

When your account switches to Free, or when you change plans, you will not lose any data and content saved on your account (this includes account settings, saved playlists/podcasts, etc).
