Payment method and country don't match error when they do match

Payment method and country don't match error when they do match

I've always bought premium with a different card before and had no problem purchasing it. That card is issued in Vietnam and my country is set as Vietnam. Now I'm trying to purchase premium with another card and I keep getting this "Payment method and country don't match" error when they do match. I haven't moved anywhere or changed my country on the account or anything so I'm wondering why this is happening? I just got the card done too so I'm wondering if that's a factor contributing to this error popping up. Thanks !

Thanks for reaching out.

 

It's possible that the card was issued in a different country then, so it's best to reach out to the issuer of the card so that they can let you know 🙂

I am sure that the card is issued here in Vietnam though, so I'm still not sure of the problem causing this error. It's a JCB card by the way. I've also tried to reach out to SpotifyCares but I haven't been able to receive an answer from them for 16 hours already. 

 

Although I do want to add on that even though the card is issued here, I do have a Korean name (but I am a Vietnamese citizen) so can that also be the cause? I want to try changing my Spotify to the korean one to test this out but the pricing between the Korean and Vietnamese versions are very different, costing me a lot more.

 

Do you have any other solutions I could try out? Once again, thanks for your help!

Thanks for getting back.

 

If you haven't moved to a different country and are still in the same one where your previous card worked just fine, then it most definitely has something to do with your new card 🙂

 

So, for now, all I can suggest is to reach out to your bank/card issuer to have them check it.
