web content not filtered according account?

Solved!

web content not filtered according account?

Hi!

I am searching for a lot of things that actually cause me headache. But you get stuck in a loop. Entering the community, I wat told not to have premium. But I have premium family. Checking my personal information and the help pages, I get lots of how to get premium and "Click her to get premium!" links.

**bleep**, pleas, I have premium! I want to get support and have now checked 5 times, that I am logged in, have a username in the community, have a usernamen in my account, logged in in my account...

I wrote another help request, had to puzzle 8 captchas and then it told me that it was wrong, solved another 8 captchas, again it failed. Guys, please, the services of Spotify have relentlessly degraded in the past month!

This text window does not expand while typing. I have to scroll down on every line I write. (latest Chrome on latest Ubuntu Linux)

No email support? Chat is gone? Only Twitter? You don't want me to post all bugs I found on Twitter, do you?

Hello there, thanks for your reply.

If you would like to write a post, it should be possible to expand the text window by dragging it by the bottom right corner.

Linux is not actively being supported, as it's being developed by Spotify's engineers at the moment. You could get help in the Linux section however. An alternative would be to use the Web Player.

It's true that there is a permanent "Get Premium" button at the top of the Spotify Community Page. There shouldn't be any button of the like when using the Spotify app.

You have to create a second account if you want to use the Spotify Community. Both your Spotify and your Community accounts are linked however and share the same login credentials.

The captcha test shouldn't be a recurring thing. Once you're logged in, you'll stay logged in. Of course this depends how your web-browser is set-up.

It's still possible to chat with one of Spotify's support members. For a full list of ways to get in touch with Spotify, you can take a look at this page.

Also, if you have further feedback or tips, you're ree to post in our Community Ideas Exchange.

Thank you for the time you spent writing your post. I hope I don't miss anything and have a nice day 🙂

Hello @Astralix, thanks for coming to the Community.

I'm sorry to hear you feel that way. No worries though, I'll be here to help. Can you let me know what's going on with your Spotify? I'm sure we can figure out what's  happening here. Also note you can find direct Support with Spotify here

Keep me posted and have a nice day 🙂

Hi Jose!

At least seeing this **bleep** makes me laugh, so humor iksn't missing at the guys designing this pages.

Actually the problem was hidden in the protest I issued. I feel you get pushed around in a loop, if you are not sure where to look for your questions. And if you are a non-native speaker, you will probably get lost immediately. So let me sum up the topics:

1) You get lots of o"Get Premium" announcments, even you are sure you are premium. So you think, it might be an issue with your account, if things do not work as expected. But your "Get Premium" adverts are just mass-spread all over the place, even to logged in premium users.

2) Adding an article here requires you to add a different account? At least I had to add my alias again and proceed through an email confirmation process... I was logged in as a premium user...

3) Entering the support login, that obviously uses the same credentials as my account, required me to solve the first captcha, but luckily only a single one.

4) I had a nice short chat with one of the support guys half a year ago. Simple question, short answers, problem solved. Including some kind words less then 5 minutes. Now I needed 5 minutes alone to walk froom 1) to 3) ...

5) Searching for a "possible" issue is a bit of a mess as the search doesn't really come up with relevant information, it just throws anything at you rhat carries some of the words you type. However, it does this fast, so I found some parts regarding my issue about sorting issues of albums, queues and audio books.

6) Reading the first responses to the finds always are "What is the software veersion you are using?" I am a software guy, I would have asked the same... So I clicked around in the software and found that someone edited out the standard menus of any Linux software running on Ubuntu normally. So no Help->About or anything similar. So you need to open a terminal, run sudo dpkg -l | grep "spotify" ...

7) Then I started to form my question and while you try to type an informative headline, it already searches again to avoid duplicate entries... Ok, another look around but the crumbled text fragments do not really help. So just finished my personal headline and pressed TAB as you do it for gettibg to the next field... Well you are sent off to the first match of the search instead of the text body field...

😎 Then I started to form my question and, again 😉 typed my personal headline and then I usedf the mouse to proceed to the body field of the question. That field is special, at least with the latest Chrome. You write and as it fills, the cursor proceeds below the visible area and nees another line, before it scrolls and let you see, what you wrote. Later this sort of syncs and now it even scrolls two lines up, or three?

9) The real ugly part is the captcha solving thing. I had to find 12 busses, 4 hydrants and heaps of bycycles, as it constantly told me that I entered it incorrect. But the I recognized, that I won a medal for my first post... So even the thing was constantly failing on the captcha, I must have sent the post...

So this are the 9 steps to overcome if you have your first question on a simple thing with Spotify... I didn't want to Twitter or to Facebook my question. The issue I had could be my fault, or it could be a misunderstanding or even if it is a bug in Spotify, it doesn't need to be yelled out into the world. But if you get treated like the story above... You really think about loosing at least some of your good manors 🙂

Ok, let's find out, how many captchas I have to solve now...

Thank you Jose_M for spending the time to cover all my questions and remarks.

Just one remark fro me. I am using Google Chrome as a browser on Linux, so there "should" be no difference in behavior comapred to other operating systems.

Regarding the player behavior, I opened a different post in a different community forum, however the Web player and the Linux Player behave the same way.

Again, thanks for your time and patience!
