My Question or Issue

For months, maybe a year and across multiple updates I've had the issue of the "Add to playlist" button not work. There's no visual feedback when it's tapped. Nothing happens even if you wait a while. If you back out of that menu though often as many times as I've tapped the button will be pages of the "add to playlist" interface.

 

This is a bug and if anyone knows how to fix it please let me know.

Thanks for getting in touch about this here in the Community. 

 

Could you let us know if this happens across devices or only on your phone? We'd also like to know if when you tap on the "Add to playlist" button, the song is added to the playlist, but you don't get any notification or if it isn't added at all. 

 

On another note, sending us a screen recording of the issue happening would come in handy. You can attach it to your next response by using the Insert Video option in the post editor. You can also upload it to Google Drive and share the link with us (make sure the video has the permissions for anyone to see it).


Lastly, could you let us know the exact Spotify version of your iPhone? 

 

We'll be on the lookout.

It happens in ios on iphone 13 mini running 15.7.1.

 

The song gets added to the playlist once the interface actually allows.

 

I'll try to get a video of it happening. it doesn't always happen so I'd need to screen record all the time which isn't very practical. I'll see what I can do...

 

 

Never mind. It probably won't do it anymore now that Spotify totally destroyed the interface. I regret updating to try to fix this issue. It probably fixed this one but created more problems. Absolute garbage design with the additional steps to add songs to playlists and hide whether you've liked something on album view. Design team should be fired.

Just updated yesterday or the day before and obviously still an issue. Looks slightly different after pressing "cancel" now but still overall same bug.

This behavior might be caused by an issue with your device's cache. We'd recommend taking a look at this page to see how to clear cached files. 


On another note, we've noticed that you're not running the latest iOS version on your phone and this would also be a possible reason for this to happen. We'd suggest that you update your iOS and check if you'll experience the same. 

 

We always work on improving the user's experience and we advise that you keep both your OS and your Spotify up to date with the latest version so that you don't miss out on any fixes.
