[All Platforms] Add the "song already in playlist" feature back

[All Platforms] Add the "song already in playlist" feature back

With a recent update, you now no longer receive a notification when a song was already added to a playlist, which helped me keep myself organized (Because sometimes I forgot it's already been added)

Hey @Acdsaaa ,

Thanks for reaching out about this here in the Community.

Just tested this with my iPhone XR (iOS 14.0.1, Spotify version: 8.5.79.1024) and looks like I still have the pop-up notification telling me a song is already in one of my playlist if I try to add it again.

Would you mind sharing the link to the song(s) you've experienced this with? At times, there are multiple versions of the same song which only differ regarding some metadata and look identical on the platform (which would explain why they look and act like duplicates of each other).

If this is not the reason for the duplicates, it'd be great to perform a clean reinstall of the app in case what you've experienced is just a temporary error.

If that doesn't work, let us know your device's operating system and Spotify version so we can further look into this.

Cheers!

it would be amazing if there was a little icon in the playlists selection when trying to add a song so you could see it is already in a playlist. so you you dont have to try to add it then get a message telling it is already there. duh ...

Hi @delib!

Looks like a similar idea has already been submitted here and has been brought to the attention of the Spotify team, so feel free check it out and add your +VOTE to show your support (if you haven't already)!

Cheers!
