All new playlists are public by default

All new playlists are public by default

I  am experiencing an issue where all new playlists I create are public by default. It is so time consuming and frankly also invading to have everything public. And yes - the setting is already set to OFF, but still everything gets published as public.

How do I solve this?

Hey there, welcome to the Spotify Community!

There are two social features that you have mentioned. One is the public playlist and another is the published playlist feature. The difference is that a published playlist is public by default but not all public playlists are published.

You can use the desktop app and turn the following setting off. This lets you publish your newly created playlists to your profile by default.

Do note that all new playlists are public by default but you can turn them into private using the 3 dots menu on the playlist. You can read more about publishing playlists here and playlist privacy settings here.

Let me know if you need help with anything else. Happy Listening. 🎵🙂

Wow. What a long reply. And completely offtopic.
