Artists never listened to showing up in Your Top Songs of 2019 and other generated persona playlists

My Question or Issue

Granted I haven't used Spotify in a few months, but today while using it I had the urge to cancel because the generated personal playlist contained artists that I've never played before Spotify decided to play them for me.

I was listing to " Your Top Songs of 2019" and it was fine, all things I've played, then out of no where here comes Taylor Swift telling me I need to calm down followed by Katy Perry. What the **bleep**. These are not artists I have any interest in. **bleep** they're not even six degrees in relation to what I listen to. 

Moving over to Daily Mix' and Rewinds it's more of the same. Not just those two artists but other formulaic top twenty artists.

How much are the artists paying for this placement? This feels very much like when Bono blew Apple to get U2 on everyone's iPhone.
