Blank Local files locations on Windows 10

Blank Local files locations on Windows 10

I'm on the latest version of Spotify on Windows 10 and I've been having problems with the local files option. In Spotify settings under Local Files, the location that all of my music is in has no name. I know what the file is, but I don't know why this is happening. Also, there is a "Downloads" folder that appears as one of the locations but when I have only that one selected, no music appears in my local files. I've reinstalled and cleared the local files cache multiple times, but nothing changes. I've also isolated a song into a separate folder and added it to the local files, and when I removed it from its file, the file location disappeared like it's supposed to. I don't know why the downloads file won't go away if supposedly there is no music in it.

Hey there @jcolex

Thanks for reaching out to us.

Just to confirm, have you tried following these steps when reinstalling the app? A clean reinstall is more thorough than a regular one and can be helpful to get any corrupted files that might be causing issues.

If this doesn't do the trick, we'd recommend making sure that your device has enough storage space available.

Let us know how it goes.

Thank you for the quick response! Yes, I have performed a clean reinstall making sure that there were no leftover Spotify files. I also have more than enough free storage space (about 1TB).

Hey @jcolex

Thanks for getting back to us.

Could you send over the exact Spotify version you're currently running?

We'll be on the lookout.

Hi @jcolex

Thanks for getting back to us with this info.

Could you try adding the source one more time? It could be expected that you don't currently see it because you reinstalled the app.

Keep us posted.
