Bluetooth + car: still not showing metadata, next/previous tracks commands not working

My Question or Issue

Years ago, connecting Spotify to my car (2016 Honda CRV) through Bluetooth gave me both the metadata display (song + artist + album) AND the ability to use the car's control for previous/next track.

In early 2020, this ceased. Neither worked.

In late 2021, if I recall right, the function to go forward/back with tracks started working again. Still no metadata.

In early 2022, that function again ceased to function.

I have done multiple clean installs. I have tried turning the app on/off etc... nothing works. The song plays fine. There is just no way to receive Metadata from the phone or to use the car's control.

I do not understand what is being done to purposefully change bluetooth functionality AND provide fewer services to the customer. What is being done to fix this?
