Bring back ability to play just the filtered songs in playlist?

Bring back ability to play just the filtered songs in playlist?

My Question or Issue

I recall that in the past, when you would filter a playlist, you could play or shuffle through JUST the songs listed that matched the filter. However now that’s seems to not be the case. Are there plans to bring this feature back? I’m not sure why it would ever be removed.

Hey @mjq4my,

Thank you for reaching out to the Community and welcome.

This is something that is still possible on the app by using the Sort and filter feature. You can find all the info related in this FAQ

If you cannot see these options, we'd recommend updating the app to its latest version by following the steps mentioned here.

Hope this helps. If anything else comes up, don’t hesitate to ask.

Oscar,

Thanks for the response. Unfortunately, that's not what I am looking for. I am aware that filtering is still an available feature in playlists. However, I'd like to shuffle through JUST the subset of songs that remain AFTER the filter is applied. Currently, if you filter a playlist, then play a song, Spotify will continue to play songs from the ENTIRE playlist, not just your filtered subset. I'm requesting that it would continue to just play songs from the filtered subset. Does that make sense?

Hey @mjq4my,

Thank you for keeping in contact.

We appreciate the clarification you made. This feature as you explained is currently available on the desktop app only, sorry for not clarifying this in my first response.

So if you're having this issue on the desktop app, could you record a short video where we can take a better look? You can attach it to your next response by using the Insert Video option in the post editor. You can also upload it to YouTube or Google Drive and share the link with us (make sure the video has the permissions for anyone to watch it)

If this is something you want on the mobile app and you think other users would like it too, we'd recommend posting it on our Ideas exchange board so it can be voted on and eventually reach the relevant teams. We'd also recommend checking our guidelines to avoid any early rejections.

Hope this helps. If anything else comes up, don't hesitate to ask.
