My Question or Issue

I heard from someone else who contacted Spotify support that there is a plan to remove Local file functionality soon, including playback and transfer to mobile functionality. The desktop client being converted to the actual web app on A/B tests with no Local file feature is a sign of that?

 

Is this true? A huge part of my music library consists of underground stuff that aren't on Spotify, 500+ songs, I have to know so I can cancel my subscription early please.

 

I will not wait for an update to randomly remove the most important feature for me on Spotify when I am a paying customer, and Local file functionality is plastered all over your client and FAQ pages.

You can get updated on all of the changes and features added or removed on the "For The Record" official Spotify website.

 

All official announcements regarding anything about Spotify are being officialy posted there.

That is not an answer to the question, you refer to some information page with a lot of news stuff. Where are we supposed to find the features that have disappeared ?

I really do not understand why Spotify is not transparent about this local files issue:
Some replies of their side even mention that it has been removed (temporarily ?) for testing purposes, but that you can vote for it as a new feature ????
They must have a very low image of your customers, do they think we are a bunch underperforming school kids ?
If they removed the local files option from the app, and not planning to put it back, just say so !
It would be polite from their side, to add a reason as well, but I guess now I am asking too much.
