My Question or Issue

In the past I used to rely a lot on my Discover Weekly playlist to find new music. But since some time now, the playlist has completely changed to only Portuguese Artists, that I never listened to, and from genres I don't even listen to regardless of Artis country. I don't understand . My friends don't experience this, and now I end up listening to other people's Discovers because my own is unusable. I have even considered my account to have been hacked or something , but the recently played does not show anything abnormal. Is there a way to download my play history for longer a longer time?

It's frustrating when your Discover Weekly playlist suddenly changes its content in a way that doesn't match your preferences. This might not necessarily be a sign of a hacked account but rather an algorithmic adjustment by the music streaming platform. To access your play history for a longer time, you can try the following steps:

  1. Spotify: If you're using Spotify, you can access your listening history by going to the "Queue" option, where you'll find a history of your recently played songs. However, Spotify typically doesn't provide extensive historical data.

  2. Third-Party Apps: There are third-party apps and services like "Last.fm" that can help you track and store your listening history over a more extended period.

  3. Contact Support: If the issue with your Discover Weekly persists, consider contacting Spotify's support team for assistance. They might be able to help you understand the playlist changes and offer recommendations.

It's also a good idea to periodically revisit your music preferences on the platform, as user tastes and the algorithm can change over time, affecting playlist recommendations.
