Dont want to hear it

Dont want to hear it

There has to be a way to not have to listen to certain artists or bands with a paid subscription? Can anybody please tell me if there is a way to never have certain groups and not just songs play again?

Hey there @TheSongsSuck,

Thanks for reaching out about this here in the Community. We moved your post from the Chat board to the relevant Help board, where it fits better.

You can block an artist in the app.  You just need to go to the artist profile on your mobile phone app > Click the 3-dot menu > select "Don't play this". This will block all content from the artist on all devices. Note that if the artist is featured in a song/album from another artist it might still be playable.

On another note, if you want to stop getting recommendations about certain music, you can now exclude it from your taste profile. More info here

Hope this helps. If you need a hand with anything else, the Community is here for you.

Are there different instructions for this on desktop?

Is there no longer an option to only block/dislike a specific song or 2 without scratching the entire artist?

Seems extreme if over someones 10 years worth of music I don't like a handful of songs or don't want them to play in the car with my children but don't want to exclude the artist entirely.

Current example and frustration is Jason Derulo's "Slow Low"

I love Jason Derulo - HATE this song and find it completely inappropriate and uncomfortable for it to play in the same room/car with my 10 year old son. Gross.
But none of that means I want to delete Jason Derulo completely lol

Hey @DWolf517!

You can hide individual songs in specific playlists via the three dots menu > Hide song, however, this feature is also limited to the mobile app for the time being.

There's this idea about allowing the Hide song function to sync across all devices and playlists, which I'm sure you'll find interesting, so check it out and show your support by giving it a thumbs up - that way it has a better chance of being considered!

The Community is always here if there's anything else you need assistance with.

Cheers!

TheSongsSuck,

Was curious if the quick response from the moderators fixed your problem. Seemed helpful. Didn’t see a response back from you.

Courteous.

One can surmise what would’ve happened if you didn’t get your predicament resolved, and that’s more entitled whining. Good on you.
