I have tried to sort tracks within a playlist but the edit does not save correctly. I can do some songs individually and it will save the changes but for others it won't. If I try multiple changes it saves a couple and puts others in random places I have not selected.  Also when I choose edit for the playlist there are random songs listed that are not in my playlist.  Are these issues a common fault or is my app glitching for some reason ?

Very frustrating for what I would have thought should be a simple process ???

Hey nigeinwa1! Make sure you have Custom order selected when sorting your playlist, find more about it here: https://support.spotify.com/us/article/sort-and-filter/. Also, you might be seeing recommended songs when you edit the playlist if you have Smart Shuffle selected, try clicking the shuffle button until the sparkle symbol disappears, and then try to edit the playlist again. This time, you should only see songs included in the playlist.

My Question or Issue

When I have smart shuffle enabled on one of my own playlists, whenever I move a song to a different location in the playlist, there's a chance that the song either:

  • Refuses to move at all
  • Moves briefly to the desired position, but then swaps back to the original position
  • Moves to the desired position
