Indexing Issue with Spotify Search - Impacting Playlist Management

Indexing Issue with Spotify Search - Impacting Playlist Management

Dear Spotify Support Team, I am a Spotify Premium Family member and a Senior Computer Engineer with extensive experience in software development. While I appreciate the recent improvements to Spotify's overall functionality, I've encountered a persistent issue with the search feature that significantly impacts playlist management. Specifically, there seems to be a rare condition where certain playlists, even those created by the same user, are not indexed correctly in the search function. In my case, I have a playlist titled "Sad" in my Library that I created using the same Spotify account. However, when I try to add new music to this playlist via the iOS 18 Spotify app, the "Sad" playlist does not appear in the search results when clicking the three dots. This inconsistent behavior is problematic as it hinders efficient playlist management. I believe that providing access to my Spotify Premium Family account (**bleep**) would enable your development team to accurately reproduce this issue and implement a suitable resolution. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to a prompt response and the implementation of a fix. Sincerely,  Kindest And Warmest Regards, Pooya Mohammadhossein  Pooya M You could call me Ryan or RAINY as my new nickname 🙂 Senior Computer Engineer and experts

Hi there @pooyair,

Thanks for reaching out. We've moved your post here where it better fits. Also be advised and never send any personal or sensitive info on the Community as all posts here are public.

Could you please provide us the following:

  • Is this on all devices or only on specific one(s)?
  • When did this start happening? Did it work before?
  • Is only that playlist affected? Are newly created playlists affected?
  • Does this only happen when adding playlists from the three dots? What about when you use the Plus symbol (the one for Liked Songs)?
  • Screenshots or a video of the behaviour. If the files are too large to attach here in the Community, you can send them to us via Google Drive or as unlisted YouTube videos.

With this information, we’d be happy to investigate.

Keep us posted.
