My Question or Issue

Can you make it so manual queue "next in queue" items persist in other devices when switching between them. I want to listen to my queue, but if I switch context by listening to anything outside my manual queue, that I saved on another device (my phone), those items are wiped even though "next in queue" is meant to remain.

This is incredibly annoying and contrary to how the manual queue normally works.

When you have manually queued "next in queue" items, you can change context and they remain on top of the queue with the other songs underneath. But when the manual queue is saved on another device. You can't listen to anything outside the queue or else you lose it.

Hey @plath, welcome to the Spotify Community! 🎵

I understand that you want the queue to persist between your sessions. The current behaviour is like this:

  1. You are playing Spotify on your laptop but your mobile app is not open. When you close the laptop player and open the mobile app it will show your most recent mobile session (i.e. this is device specific). This is why when you switch apps it is not bringing the queue from one device session to another.
  2. However, this is where you can use Spotify Connect. You can play Spotify on one device and open your mobile app at the same time. Spotify Connect should sync by bringing your queue from the ongoing session to the mobile.

Give this a try and let me know how that goes. 🙂

My Question or Issue

When I switch devices for playing music, the Queue always resets (this happens every time) and I have to remove songs from Queue.

i can see my queue from another device through spotify connect, but if i play a song from outside the queue, the context changes and the next in queue list from my other device is lost.

this is unlike next in queue items added to queue from the current device. i basically have to listen to the songs in order as saved on my other device without deviating otherwise the queue disappears.
