Cx says he wants to move the playlists to the homescreen
Hey @Amala_mercy,
Thank you for reaching out to the Community and welcome. We moved your post from Chats to the help boards as its content fits better here.
This feature is not currently available on the Spotify app. However, you can add an album to the home screen. To do so, just open Spotify app, tap the album you want and hit the 3-dot menu. Over there, select the option "Add to home screen".
For the playlist, we have a new feature that gives you the ability to pin up to 4 items to the top of Your Library. These items can be playlists, playlist folders, albums, artists, or podcasts.
Lastly, if you feel other users would like this feature as well, if there's no other existing idea, we'd recommend posting it on our Idea Exchange board so it can be voted on and reach the relevant teams. Keep in mind our Guidelines before posting it to avoid any rejection.
Hope this helps. If anything else comes up, don't hesitate to ask.
We aren't looking to pin playlists in the library; we can already do that, and we aren't looking to add albums to the the home screen. We can already do that, too. We were already able to add playlists to the the home screen, but it was stupidly removed. It shouldn't have to be voted on, to bring it back, because it never should've been taken away.
Spotify employees must get off, implementing cool features, then removing them.
I'm very SAD that I can not abb an album to my home screen anymore. That was on of my favorite features. It really helps when you want to check out artists later. While still listening to your playlist. PLEASE PLEASE BRING IT BACK. I MISS MY HOME SCREEN BUTTON. POOR DISCUSSION ON REMOVING IT
What madness to remove the pin to homescreen button. It was such a great shortcut. I was able to create folders on a panel of my phone just for these folders. Bring it back. Come, do the right thing. What remove a great feature.
When they took away "add to home screen" my enjoyment of Spotify was decreased immensely. I added albums to the home screen and made artist folders. It was really simple to find what I wanted - no scrolling through a massive favorites list. Also, sometimes when I am not sure what I want to listen to, I would see the folder of an artist I wasn't even thinking about and decide on an album to listen to. I cannot do that while speedily scrolling through a huge list.
I contacted the support message people twice to ask about this. The first time, I was told to try a "hack" that could not work because what I was told to do Spotify would not do in the first place. The second time I was told that Spotify is always trying to "improve" the user experience and they are very sorry I am not happy with the change. It would be like taking your car in for service and they said they were improving the driving experience then you find out they removed the power steering. Then just said, "sorry".
If Spotify was a totally free service, I wouldn't be as upset about it, but I pay a monthly fee for premium service. I can still add albums to playlists or the queue, two things I have never done...to me playlists are for songs and I don't use the queue at all.
Please bring back "add album to home screen" so we can really enjoy Spotify again.
This solution no longer works.
Continuous improvement seems to have decided to go backwards in evolution to a poorer design and decreased user enjoyment.
This post perfectly describes what the PAYING USER BASE WANTS.
DOES SPOTIFY NOT CARE WHAT PAYING CUSTOMERS WANT?
What is the motivation to make the experience less enjoyable?
Why would you take away such a great option but the add to home screen back
If any other paying customers read this and aren't happy with Spotify's decision, you can press and hold the Spotify icon on your home screen and drag it will bring up a dropdown of recent playlists, from which you can drag and drop onto your home screen.
I had heard that before and when I tried it the only drop-down was search. I just tried it again and somehow got it to work. It is much more tedious than the add to home screen button. I have lots of saved albums, so this will take a while. Then my phone will update and they will all go away and I will have to do it all over again LOL (Actually, that was a problem before as well).
Tank you a lot...you saved me. My 8 year old son is using a special playlist for playing drums and always had the shortcut on the homescreen. Now we have a new tab, he was not able to go through whole Spotify just to play along a few songs. He is to young and got lost in the app. But now I have the Shortcut back on homescreen thanks to your post. I cannot understand why Spotify took this function away. It is essential especially for younger users. Please bring it back!
