I have NEVER made my playlists public yet they are. All the switches are turned off in the Spotify section in my prefs on the desktop version and all playlists are made secret on the mobile version. I've tried logging on and off but all the playlists are still public. I'm on W10 Pro for desktop version using Firefox, Chrome, Edge, Vivaldi but same outcome for all. For mobile version I'm on Android.
Hey there @Greggy300,
Thanks for reaching out! We'll happily help you sort this one out 🙂
Could you please make sure that you set your playlists to Secret using the instructions listed on this page? If you encounter difficulties, you can always post a screenshot of what you see.
Note that it is not possible for the playlists to be secret on the mobile version, but public on the PC. This is a setting that is associated with your account, not with the device.
If you mean that the setting gets switched back to public by itself, we recommend that you follow these instructions on how to secure your account.
Hope this helps. Keep us posted on how it goes.
Have an awesome day!
Hey @Greggy300,
just an addition to @Peter reply, as I noticed this before, is when you're logged in your account using the browser version of Spotify you see all of your playlists, when you are not logged, you see only the public ones. That means, for everyone else who look at your profile, they see only your public ones, and the rest are visible only to you.
I'm sharing screenshots of when I'm logged in and when I'm logged out, so you can see the difference.
Not Logged - Only public
Logged - All playlists
I haven't set ANY of my playlists to public.
I have never set any of my playlists as public. They have been set as secret.
Hey again @Greggy300
I understand, can you confirm that you're seeing this only on your browser?
As I mentioned above, this only occurs on the browser version of Spotify after you log in to your account.
I know it's kinda confusing, but it's a feature only applying on the browser Spotify.
This means only you can see all the playlists, but everyone else sees only the public ones. You can also make this little test, like mine: Log out from your account, and open your profile again to check what you see.
What you are seeing when you go to your profile on mobile? (Home > Settings > View Profile) .. Do you see again all of your playlists or only the ones that have been set to public?
Hi, as mentioned NONE of my playlists are set public. They are ALL secret. So no playlist should be public. What you write doesn't match what I'm experiencing cause on my profile on mobile there's no view where the playlists are tagged or marked public but on my desktop app version they are marked public. I compared with a friends profile who also have no public playlists but the desktop version is NOT showing anything public. So there is obviously not a consistent outcome. You write that everything is tagged public in the desktop version but obviously not.
