Add a new feature to the individual song menu titled "More music like this" which opens to a new playlist titled "Songs like (song name) by (artist)" which is a curated smart playlist to find more music specifically like the song you're requesting. New playlist is then treated like any other playlist & saved to Your Library.
Seems like a good way to allow people to, or at least begin to, tailor their experience around a specific song they're enjoying in the moment.
Hi there @aeequs!
A similar feature already exists in the app: you can start a radio from the three dots of any of any song, artist or album: Spotify will then generate a fresh playlist with similar songs. There's more info in this article, feel free to check it out if you're interested.
In case you meant something else, or you think your suggestion should be considered as separate, you can submit a new idea highlighting how it’s distinct from the existing feature and including as much relevant info as possible.
Cheers 🤘
Ah yeah okay, I think maybe the terminology fell a bit deaf on my ears. Thanks for that.
I'm sure this isn't unique, but a similar idea didn't come up when I searched, so...
All I want is to right click on a track and select "More like this", and for Spotify to start playing songs in the same genre, style, or mood. Exactly like how when a playlist ends it starts playing similar songs. But I don't want to have to listen to a whole playlist to initiate this effect. I think it will be great for discovering new music.
Hi, did you try "Go to radio" under the three dots menu? That worked for me.
But I admit, I didn't understand that and was looking for "More like this" too.
Similar to other posts. Spotify makes playlists of songs it thinks I may like. Well, I like some of the suggested songs, and dislike others. Rather than a "Like" button that puts the song on another playlist but seems to have no other effect, I would like a way to indicate that I like the currently playing song and would like to hear more songs like this one.
Others have also posted they want a "dislike" button to discourage selecting this and similar songs in playlists,
What if when you pressed play on a layout that was set on shuffle it made you pick a song from that playlist and plays songs that have simmilair feelings genres or vibes to that one song you picked and eventually it might run out of songs so then it uses AI to slowly transfer the vibe to a more popular one with more songs on it this creates a huge number of possibilities that can be also shuffled this should be able to toggle on and off and if yiu dont like the current vibe you can click the queue button and there should be a button that says "change vibes" and it allows you to re pick the vibe
Yes but the radio feature does not give you songs that give you the similar vibe or experience of the song you created a radio from. It mainly gives you a bunch of popular songs that are in the genre of that song but not necessarily in the same vibe mood or beat. For example I just did this with a very heavy riddim song and the radio is now giving me house music songs which are two completely different genres of music. It would completely change people’s Spotify experience and open people’s music selection up a lot if we could find similar songs that give us the same feeling as the one we started a radio from.
