My Question or Issue
I've noticed that I'm no longer following a ton of artists after the UI update. Im 100% certain I was following these artists, and I'm finding more that are unfollowed each day. I tried following an artist on my Iphone 11 Pro (iOS 14.4.2) last night: the follow button wouldn't respond at all. I then followed through the more options function on the artist page (3 dots), navigated away and then back to the page, to find that I wasn't following the artist again.
Why is this happening? Is there any way for a staff member to cross-check my followed artists from a couple of months ago to today? This is a huge setback for me because I find the majority of my music through my Release Radar and I have no way of knowing which artists I'm no longer following now.

Hey @whednesday
Do you follow more than 1,000 artists?
If so, it looks like you're having the same problem I am having. It's an issue if you follow more than 1,000 artists. The follows are still there in the system (but you have to follow new artists in the desktop app only, mobile app won't save any new follows). When I go to artist pages I am following in the desktop app, the page still shows that I am following it, however it won't appear in my following list on my profile or in the artist tab on my library. The new desktop app makes the situation worse by capping your following count to 1,000 even if you follow more.
I have a thread dedicated to this issue here:
This is a known issue that is being looked into.

You're welcome @whednesday
I will be posting any updates I hear about in that thread.
It's more known now so I hope there will be some more attention to it.
Some major improvements were just recently made to how the following system works across the apps and are now rolling out.
