Playlist song order different than on desktop

Playlist song order different than on desktop

In every music app when you sort songs in a playlist by "Artist" it does so first by artist, then groups them by album, and then by the order the song appears in the album. This is how it works on Spotify desktop, how it works everywhere else in the world, etc...

Somehow in the latest iOS update the songs are grouped by artist and then randomly ordered... there's absolutely no logic to it. Is spotify aware of this? Planning to fix it? Why push out new updates that break things for no reason, are your devs that bored?

To anyone that relies on this playlist order, you can get the same order on iOS by making a new playlist, going on Desktop, sorting by the order you want, then copying all the songs over to the new playlist at once (select all and drag). Then on iOS when you sort by "custom order" they should be in the right order.

that means every time we add new songs to the playlist we have to create a whole new playlist then copy all songs to the new one, this doesn't make sense Spotify clearly have a bug in the sort system and they can't fix it or they don't wanna fix it. why make people pay for premium if they can't deliver what they promise.

Hey there @dj_calc,

Thanks for posting on the Community! We'll help you sort this out 🙂

There are different filters you can use to change the order of the songs in the playlists. You can go ahead and check this article for more information.

If they don't show up in the order you wanted, we'd suggest you restart the device and log out and log back in to the account. If that leads to nowhere, you can give these steps a go and run a clean reinstall.

Hope this helps. If you have questions, you know where to find us.
