Public Playlists do not Display on Profile

Public Playlists do not Display on Profile

Since October 2021, playlists that I make public do not show on my profile to me or anyone else searching for it.

For some background information:

  1. A long time ago, I selected a setting to make all new playlists secret. I was just looking for that setting and it does not seem to exist anymore. So, I can't deselect it. (That setting is so old that the language has changed from "secret" to "private.")
  2. I found there is a new line that says "Publish new playlists to profile." I turned that one on. 
  3. I have clean re-installed the program on my Windows computer. I have also reinstalled it on my Android phone. (This problem also occurs on my work Macbook Air, but I don't have access to it currently to try reinstalling.)
  4. I have gone in culled the number of playlists I have in case that was an issue.
  5. I have marked them all as private and then back to public. 
  6. I even marked some of the playlists from before October 2021 as private, but they still appear on my profile. 
  7. I have tried to share links to public playlists directly with my family members and they cannot access the playlist. It says it's private even after going in toggling that setting back and forth. I end up having to make them collaborators for them to see it.

I have read a couple of posts on a similar topic to this one, and I tried all the suggested solutions. Nothing has worked yet. Got anything new I can try?

Just to confirm, have you tried following these specific steps?

 

If so and it still doesn't work, would you mind asking a friend or a relative to log in to their account on one of your devices to check if they can replicate this with their own account?

All the steps on the page that you linked are about making public playlists private and being aware that if you share a private playlist, those people can display them. This is tangentially related to my issue. My issue is that my playlists, since October of 2021, will not display on my account whether they are set to public or private. Also, I noticed that if I set any of the playlists that are currently public to private, they continue to show on my profile. It would see that my account will not change the status of any playlist (even if you are looking at the playlist setting and it says the right thing).

 

The devices do not seem to be the issue. It seems to be an issue with my account in particular.

Thanks for the post.

 

On the Desktop app on your computer, can you right click (double click for Mac) on the playlist and select "Add to Profile"? This should add the playlist to your Profile. Make sure the playlist is also set to Public.
