My Question or Issue

How can Spotify know if legally obtained music has been obtained legally? I mean, I have music from early 2000's and also mid-late 90's. I can't imagine that the methods of verifying how files from those eras were obtained were the same as today. I wouldn't want any files to be flagged as illegal content when they are in fact legal content.

I also have several songs from the mid 2000 (around 2012). Again, wouldn't want my songs to be flagged because they were not obtained off of the Spotify platform.

Hi @Midevil,

thanks for reaching out !

I can assure you that you shouldn't have any issues uploading your music as local files to Spotify, as they were obtained by a user and uploaded to the app.

If you're experiencing an issue, please reply back to the post and i'll jump in to help.

Have a great day 🙂
