My Question or Issue

There are a few songs in an album I'm listening to that are currently missing in Spotify. When clicking the grey title it tells me that "if you have the file on your computer you can import it". I do have the music file from another source so I just imported it and made sure the id3 tag was identical to what it is in Spotify, but it turned out that the file merely appears in the "local file" section other than lightening the grey part inside the album page (see attachment).

So is there a way to make imported files manageable within Spotify other than just appears in "Local Files"? Or would it cause copyright issues?

Hi there @shawnlu96,

Thanks for reaching out about this in the Community!

Grayed out tracks are currently not available for streaming. This can be caused by various reasons like copyright issues or a label pulling tracks/albums off the platform.

If you add the song as a local file from your computer it will appear under Local files and you can add it to your own created playlists to listen to it on your device, however this won't add it to the official album or playlists where it was grayed out in the first place.

Hope this makes sense. You can read more about local files here.

Don't hesitate to reach out again if you have questions.

Cheers.
