Song Added To My Spotify Playlist Without My Knowledge

Hello, when I entered my spotify playlist yesterday, 101 songs that I thought were portuguese were added. My playlist is private. Why might this have happened?

Thanks for posting in the Community and welcome. 

Is possible someone else accessed your account. We'd suggest you access your account page and there you'll have to sign out everywhere, using the button you'll find by scrolling to the bottom of the Account Overview page.

Once you've done that, it's always a good idea to secure your account in these cases to make sure everything is in order. You can find out more on how to secure your account here.

I changed my passwords and logged out from everywhere but I think a virus may have done this. If he can do it now, can't he do it again?

Thanks for the post.

It's a good idea to run a virus scan on your PC using a anti-virus software and to change the password on your email address just in case. If you're using Facebook to log in it's also a good idea to change your password there.

I already changed the passwords, but could it be something other than account hacking? I already use it for free, I don't have any subscription, as I said, can there be anything other than unauthorized access to the account?

Did this happen with other playlists as well?

If you have a free account, it is possible that songs become automatically added to a playlist, if the playlist has only a few songs.

I can't think that the ones that are not in my playlist will not be added and I think it might be true that spotify wouldn't add 2-3

Hey @Justicia, 

Thanks for getting back to us! 

It's a good idea to log in on your Account page and go to ''Apps'' in the menu on the left side. There you can see all third party apps that are connected to your account and we'd recommend that you "Remove Access" for the apps that you don't recognize. Once you did that, this shouldn't be happening again.

There was one such thing as "spotify phone player", I removed its access. Can he access my account again?

And when I removed his access he didn't kick me from his spotfiy app and my app wasn't showing up either, why is that?

Can you please explain in a little bit more detail what you mean with your previous post? Can you you open the Spotify app on your phone? What happened when you removed this permission?

I removed this permission and it didn't work, so I opened my spotfiy app and everything was normal

Thanks for the reply.

We can't say what the reason for this behavior is, because we don't have enough information on it.

It is possible that this is due to a 3rd party app having access to your account, but we can't be sure.

If this happens again after you've revoked the access of the 3rd party apps, let us know so we can find a suitable solution.

After I logged to a page to win some earphones, a new playlist was added to my profile "My Name On Tout", and musics from that playlist are saved in my "Liked by you" playlist. Even when I try to remove the "On Tout" playlist, it is still there. I lost control of my account.
