Songs greyed out

Songs greyed out

When I listen to Spotify on the app sometimes one or two songs get greyed out but at least a month later half my whole playlist greys out (it was always there and I didn't turn any of my settings on) and I looked for settings and there was only Language, Display and Social. I also have not changed my location

Hey @Carrots1,

Have you tried reinstalling your Spotify app like shown here?

Let me know if it worked and

have a nice day!

It didn't 😧

Ok maybe you turned the setting disable explicit songs on? Here is a spotify soloution how you can disable the function. Link to the possible soloution!

I hope this will help you.

It didn't because the only settings I have are on the picture also I'm on a chromebook

So the problem is that Spotify doesn't have an official Chrome Book version as far as I know so are you using the wep play app or how did you download Spotify?

Are only the Explexit songs with the "E" out greyed because if so you can try to log in from your mobile device through the app and try to enable the explicit songs.

I hope this will help you.

I downloaded Spotify by going to the website and there is a computer with an arrow and i clicked that and it said to install and i did. My playlist also did have E tags

Thanks for your message!

It seems like you might have clicked on the computer icon and ended up installing the Spotify web app instead of the full-featured desktop app.

Here's what you can do based on your operating system:

  • If you're using Windows on your Chrome Book, make sure to download Spotify from the official website (Here). Once you have the desktop app, you should get access to all the features, including settings.

  • If you're using ChromeOS, unfortunately, Spotify doesn’t have an official app for it. However, you can still download the Spotify app on your phone through the App Store or Play Store. Once you’ve installed it, here’s how you can manage explicit content settings(More Infos😞 (This would also work for the Windows settings)

    1. Swipe left or tap your profile picture.
    2. Tap Settings.
    3. Under Content preferences, toggle Allow Explicit Content on or off.

I hope this solves your issue! Feel free to ask if you need more help, and I'll do my best to assist you.

Okay! (this could take a while)
