Sort by Unplayed

I pay for spotify and I find it extremely annoying that I can't filter my podcasts by UNPLAYED episodes without having to do it each and every time I want to listen. Spotify says this is expected behavior. HOW IS THIS EXPECTED BEHAVIOR? Why would you do this, it makes ZERO sense. How is it that Spotify does not have this BASIC FUNCTIONALITY on their app? 

Please make it so that when I go to a podcast and choose "Filter by UNPLAYED/OLDEST" it saves my filtering choice. It's so mindboggling that this is not already SOP.
