Unknown Songs/Artists showing up in my local files

Unknown Songs/Artists showing up in my local files

For a good while now, someone else's local files have filled up my local files list.
Music and artists I don't even own or have on my hard drive fill up my local files folder.
The list of other people's music seems to have grown since last time too.
I have tried everything possible without any luck.
When I move/delete my own folds the others remain in the list.
I'm starting to get very tired of this now! Please help me!

There are unknown playlists that pop up in my library. I unfollow them, but they pop up again. How can I stop these other playlists from appearing in my library?

Hello @wolf59,

Thanks for reaching out here and welcome to the Community!

This is very odd indeed, since Local Files need to be stored on your device in order to appear in that folder. Have you checked the source of the accessed folders under Settings > SOURCE? Can you try switching Show Local Files off and on again and only select the folder where your music is saved in? You'll find the full information on how to do that in this support article.

You should also take a look at this Spotify Answer, which gives some reasons why unknown songs might be added to your account. @bigmitch71 - we recommend you check that one out too.

If none of the suggestions work and the strange songs still show up in your folder, it would be great if you could send us some screenshots so we can get to the bottom of this.

Let us know how you get on. We'll look out for your reply 🙂
