Hey @NU4,

Thank you for reaching out here in the Community.

Could you please let us know which device you're using?

If you're experiencing this on your mobile device, we can assume that you have the newest Smart Shuffle feature turned on on your playlist and that might be the reason why this is happening.

If that's the case, we'd suggest that you turn it off and check if you'll experience the same. You can turn Smart Shuffle on or off whenever you want by tapping through the Shuffle button at the top of your playlist or on the Now Playing View.

You can find more info about the Smart Shuffle in this article. If you have any input about this new feature - you're welcome to share it in this thread as your feedback is important to us!

If the above is not the case, could you send over some screenshots of your playlist, queue and NPV?

Hope this helps. If anything else comes up, the Community will be here for you 🙂

I'm using free plan on Android, so I can't turn off the shuffle.

I know spotify will automatically add songs to the playlist IF it has less than 15 songs and this system plays songs that I didn't add to it.

But my playlist has more than 15 songs and actually there are no automatically added songs in that list.

Even so, it plays songs that neither I or spotify added.

Hey @NU4,

Thanks for getting back to us.

You're correct - it's currently not possible to turn off shuffle mode on free account, however, we can't see user's account on the Community. That's why we've assumed that Smart Shuffle feature might be the reason for this behavior. Apologies for any confusion created on our end.

If you don't recognize these songs, we'd suggest that you log out everywhere, following the instructions here.

We'd also recommend that you remove access for any third party apps as you might have used your account on external devices (such as speakers, etc.) in the past. You can do that with the following steps:

  1. Log in to your Apps page.
  2. Click REMOVE ACCESS on any app.

On another note, if you've come across unknown music on your Spotify, it'd be good to make sure no one is accessing your account in an unauthorized way.

If you think someone’s gained access to your account - head here and see what steps you'd need to take. If that's the case - to prevent this from happening in the future, there are many measures you can take to protect your account, such as resetting your password every few months, and not using passwords you have used on other sites. There is also a great guide here with some more measures on protecting your account.

Hope you'll find this useful. Take care 🙂
