Adding song to queue then playing a song skips to the song in the queue

Steps to repeat:
Add a song to queue,

Play a different song.
Observe that the song that's currently played is skipped after a few seconds or instantly after a new song is played.

Thanks for reaching out and for the info provided!

 

Can you confirm if this happens only with specific playlists or across all? On @RyanHF's screen recording I can see that there are AirPods connected when this is happening, so can you try adding a song to the queue when there are no external devices connected to see if the issue persists? Another thing you can try is clearing the Play Queue and then force stopping Spotify from your phone's settings before opening it again. 

 

I'd also recommend performing a clean reinstall of the app to make sure that you're running the latest version and to remove any damaged cache there might be, but just keep in mind that you'll have to re-download the downloaded content you currently have.

This has happened to me several times today (although I couldn’t reproduce it just now)

A complete reinstall(including cache) fixed this solution but it needed to be performed on every device that was logged in for this issue to stop. This issue occured across playlists on iPhone, iPad and macOS but not Windows(this issue did not occur at all on windows, while it was experienced on ios and macOS). The issue persisted when using no external devices as well as numerous other bluetooth devices.
