After cancelling a search in my library my spotify keeps playing the same song on loop - queue prob

After cancelling a search in my library my spotify keeps playing the same song on loop - queue prob

My problem is a bit weird and I'm not totally sure how to describe it, but I will try my best.

I have about 900 songs on my Spotify currently loaded into my library. If I were to press "shuffle play" my songs would proceed as normal but ifif I wanted to search a song and queue it up for later that's where the problem is. If I were to type in "darn" in my library two songs would play:

1. Planet God darn

2. darn I wish I was your lover

Now let say I queued up Planet God darn, went back to my search and pressed "x" or "cancel" in the search box: the song would end, next up would be "Planet God darn" then one of my other 900+ songs would play.

However this has recently changed for some reason. Now, if I were to type in "darn", queue up "Planet God darn," and then press "x" or "cancel" in the search,  "Planet God darn" would play, immediately followed by "darn I wish I was your Lover," and instead of being followed by one of my other 900+ songs, "Planet God darn" would play again on loop. I didn't realize how annoying this was until I wanted to listen to my music in the shower and the same song kept playing on loop. If I press "fastfoward" it will go back to "Planet God darn" or "darn I wish I was your lover" so it's not even like I can go back to listening to any of the 900+ songs, I then have to go back and either select the song I want by scrolling and not doing a search, or just doing a "Shuffle Play"

This is a bit of a weird situation and I didn't even know how to search this in the community board. I've already deleted the app and re-downloaded it and nothing changed. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks!
Caitlin

Hey @caitlinmccauley

Are you still having this problem?

Are you using the "Songs" section in Your Library?

I tested this in the iOS app by going to the "Songs" section and using the filter.

Steps I followed:

  1. Open Spotify iOS app
  2. Go to "Songs" section in Your Library
  3. Tap on the shuiffle play button
  4. Use the filter bar to search for "Going Home" I have 2 songs that have this in the title
  5. Queued up the first of the 2 songs that appeared,
  6. Canceled out of the search and after the current song played, the song I queued played, followed by the playlist playing the next song that was on shuffle.

I was only able to reproduce the bug if I tapped to play a song in the search first before canceling it out:

Steps I followed:

  1. Open Spotify iOS app
  2. Go to "Songs" section in Your Library
  3. Tap on the shuiffle play button
  4. Use the filter bar to search for "Going Home" I have 2 songs that have this in the title
  5. Tap on the first of the 2 songs to start playing it
  6. Queued up the first of the 2 songs that appeared,
  7. Canceled out of the search and after the current song played, the song I queued played, followed by the next song in the search, and then again on repeat.

Did I miss any steps?
