Airplane mode; Spotify keeps stopping play to download

Hello, I'm new to the community, long time Spotify user

Recently I attempted to listen to Spotify on my iPhone 6 during a long flight while on Airplane mode. I've never before had problem listening offline but this time around Spotify kept stopping and up came a notice that Spotify was attempting to download songs. I had added songs to a playlist that I have offline on all op my devices and suddenly when I was using my phone it was trying to download while offline. I could not find any way of stopping this, knowing too well from previous experience that if you dare touch the "save for offline" button on Spotify or toggle it on/off all the songs are lost and you have to go online again to gain them back.

After an hour of this endless stopping with the same notification telling me to go online I gave up and started watching the in-flight entertainment.
I believe this is a 'feature', not an error so PLEASE dear Spotify teach us to stop the messages from interrupting play.
Oh, and while I'm at it BRING MOODAGENT BACK

The thing I'd do is simply remove the songs your phone is trying to download but can't as it is in airplane. I've had this before and it's true, sacrifing a few times is worth it

I guess that's one way of hacking around this error, not marking it solved here since it really hasn't been solved. There's no other way for Spotify to recognize that when my phone is offline in Airplaine mode that's the time to stop trying to download.
