My Question or Issue

When I pause a song and then hit play to resume listening, it shuffles to another track. There is a green shuffle icon on the lower right corner of the play button, but the regular shuffle button indicates that it is turned off. I also have the app on my iMac desktop, but it doesn't have this issue. My wife's phone/ipad does this as well, but we are on separate accounts.

What can I do to disable the shuffle?

Hey there @InShuffleHell

Thanks for reaching out to us about this - we'll be glad to help you out here.

Most common issues can be fixed with a quick reinstall of the app. In some situations however, a clean (more thorough) reinstall of the app might be needed. This way you can start afresh with Spotify on all of your devices.

Check out this help page in order to find the steps for clean reinstall depending on the affected device. Then log in to your Spotify as usual and try disabling the Shuffle option.

If it doesn’t do the trick, we’ll provide you with further help.

We'll look out for your reply.

I constantly have this issue on my ipads (old and brand new).  The delete and reinstall app method gets very old very fast and this issue has more than once pushed me to the brink cancelling premium all together.  Fortunately I’ve found another solution that, though annoying, is quick:  I close Spotify on iPad and open it on iPhone where the Now Playing view gives access to the criss-cross toggle.  Then I reopen on iPad.  It’s irritating but quick.

The default should be “off” for all versions/platforms. This has been a problem for months, there’s an error in the code/logic of your software.

When will it be fixed?

Hey there @gt28

Thank you for reaching out to us.

Can you let us know what version of Spotify you're on, as well as what device/devices this occurs on?

Also, just to confirm, have you done a reinstall if the app? If not it would be great if you can do that - you'll find the steps here

Keep us posted. We're always one reply away.

Cheers!
