All my music is gone! Help!

All my music is gone! Help!

okay, so for a long time I've been using Spotify for Windows PC and had no issues. Then at one point i wanted to listen to it on an iPad (a shared iPad) and I think I made a new account. So then I went in there just today and I wanted access to all my hundreds of songs and playlists and stuff, so I clicked some "sync with facebook" button or something and POOF. Everything's gone. On my computer, on my Android phone, and on the iPad. Most of my stuff was in the My Songs thing and that's totally empty now. All I have are a couple of songs that I starred on the iPad BEFORE hitting the sync button. I think somehow hitting that button overwrite all my previous data and now I want to get it back.

Please help!

-Brandon

Note: I wasn't sure exactly where to post this and whether it was a PC or iOS issue, so I put it under iOS because that was where the problem originated.

Note: Prior to this my account was with Facebook only and i had no seperate Username/Password for Spotify. But now it appears as though I do.

Hi Brandon,

The only thing that I can think of is a weird cross-caching instance between the two logins. Go ahead and login with your facebook details in a new browser session.

Once you do that, reply back here and let us know if your playlists are still there. If it IS the correct account and the playlists were deleted, it's no big deal and easy to fix! Go ahead and use this recover playlists feature to re-add those songs that you lost.

Hope that helps!

Thank you, but I've tried relogging in every possible way and whether i use facebook or my credentials it's the same account and my playlists are never there and My Songs is still empty. The recover playlists option says there are no deleted playlists.

Any other ideas?

-Brandon

Edit: It seems to me like my Facebook account was re-attributed to this new account, and since the old account lacked any kind of credentials that were unique to Spotify there is no way to access such an account. Meaning that in theory my information could still be in the database, but it would be unaccessable no matter how you login. That's my theory anyways. The only solution I can think of is if someone who actually worked for Spotify checked the database for accounts previously synced with my Facebook login. however I don't know how to go about this.

Edit: It could also be simply that my account was irreversibly overwritten and my data lost forever. But I do sincerely hope this is not the case.

The best course of action here would be to try a clean reinstallation of the application.

If that doesn't work out, I recommend reaching out directly to Spotify Support. They can be reached through their Twitter Page @SpotifyCares or through the online contact form

Make sure to check your inbox and junk folder for an email from Spotify. Once you get it, make sure to reply back right away, even if it says it's from a "no-reply" email. This will assign your case to a Spotify rep and you should hear back within 24 hours.

Cheers!

no problem. Sorry we didn't have the answer! Sometimes they're easy...sometimes they're not.
