My Question or Issue

Does anyone else not get any notifications on any of their devices for new episodes being released or new music? I used to get these a while ago, but now I don't receive any and get push notifications for sponsored content or generic notifications from Spotify. Chat support asked me to do a whole range of troubleshooting to no avail, and then resulted in telling me I would get email notifications....

I'm happy to help you!

Can you please make sure either the system or app notifications are turned on? 

On iOS you can check this by going to Settings > Notifications > Spotify and making sure that Allow Notifications is toggled on and that Sounds, Badges, and Alerts are all enabled.

It's also worth checking if Do Not Disturb, Power, or Data settings are also turned off.

I figuered right now I don't get a notification each time an artist I follow uploads new music. I would love it if I get regular notifications of that. 

I am no longer receiving push notifications on my devices for new podcast episodes when a new episode is added. I am getting notifications for only 3 or 4, but I follow and have notifications enabled for about 14. This has been happening for almost a month now. I have an iPhone 15 Pro and using iOS 18.0.1. I have tried the following steps:
1. Logging out of Spotify on my iOS device.
2. Offloading the Spotify application.
3. Deleting the Spotify application.
4. Rebooting my device.
5. Re-installing Spotify.

Notifications still do not work for all podcast feeds, only some.

I have the same problem as other commenters: I am no longer receiving push notifications on my iPhone for new podcast episodes, even though I follow the podcast, have notifications turned on and have Spotify notifications enabled in my iPhone settings. Just like other commenters, I do receive notifications for one or two podcasts but not for the other podcasts with the exact same notification settings (follow and notifications enabled). For me the issue is there since a month or so. I have an iPhone 15 and I’m using iOS 18.0

We've reported this to our technical team, but are unable to provide an ETA for a fix at the moment. What I'd recommend in the meantime is to head over to Profile (top-left) in the app > What's New. You'll find all new releases by creators that you follow there in order not to miss out on any new content.

Same here, after iOS 18 I’m not receiving new episodes notifications as well. I’m receiving only new shows notifications… hope the fix that soon. 

I’m having the same issue on an iPhone 15 running 18.1. Ever since it updated to 18 I get a podcast episode notification here and there but it’s not consistent. This has been going on for a couple weeks now- Time for a fix Spotify

I'm having the same issue on an up-to-date Android phone and all notification settings everywhere activated. I did a clean reinstall of Spotify multiple times to no avail.

 

Push notifications for new podcast episodes have not been working correctly for over a month now. For a few podcasts, some episode drops are pushed. For most podcasts and episodes, however, there is no push notification (though they show up in New Episodes).

 

I also have my own podcast distributed on Spotify and have noticed a marked drop in listeners over the past month, despite growing subscriber numbers. This indicates that there are more people not getting push notifications for new podcast episodes.

 

For a few weeks, I figured I would just wait it out, but now it has been a while and is affecting my numbers as a creator quite a lot.

 

Is there any fix in sight?
