App crashes on my iphone and ipad

When I try to sign in on both my iphone and ipad I three dots appear for 5 minutes or so and then either stop or stop and apear to log in but the screen is frozen.  If close down and try to re-lauch the program it just the green spotify trademark and goes no further.  I've tried reinstalling multiple times with the same result. 

I did see troubleshoot help that suggested

Ask a friend or family member to sign into Spotify on your device. See if the issue still happens on their account too. If it does, the issue is with the device and can likely be solved with more troubleshooting

This work great, my friends account (acutally family member using one of my family shots, opened and worked fine.  The trouble shooting does not suggest what I should do when this happens?
