Autoplay after interruption on Spotify Mobile

Autoplay after interruption on Spotify Mobile

Whenever I receive a call on my iPhone X (running iOS 14.8), it obviously pauses the music.

What's frustrating is it doesn't resume music after the call ends. The user has to tap the play button to resume. Apple Music doesn't work like this. It auto-resumes music.

If this is an issue with Spotify, you should fix it ASAP. If this is a limitation with iOS, you should sue the heck out of Apple.

I'm not much of an Apple fan, but I sure thought of switching to Apple Music coz this is annoying. I like getting lost in music, and any interruptions just stops the music completely.

Hi @KrishnaMuluguru,

Thank you for posting on the Community and welcome.

We've moved your post to this help board as it didn't qualify as an idea.

We tested this from our side using iOS and the music always resumed automatically after finishing a phone call, so there are some things we can try here.

To start, please make sure your phone has enabled all app permissions for Spotify.

If this doesn't do the trick, try running a clean reinstall of the app, as this one is more thorough than a regular one and can be helpful to get rid of any cache that might be causing trouble.

Let us know how this goes.

I’ve had this issue too for a few months and I cannot find any tip to resolve it.  I make and receive dozens of calls each day and it is really frustrating to have to reopen the app each time to resume music or a podcast.

Hey there @thereeder,

Thanks for reaching out about this here in the Community.

Could you let us know which troubleshooting steps you've already tried? That way we can avoid any repeating steps.

Additionally, we suggest that you follow the steps @MafeG sent previously to see if those make the difference.

We'll be waiting for your reply.
