Operating System
(iOS 10.3.3) iPhone 5
Hello,
After the last Appstore update, BMW Connected Drive no longer recognizes the Spotofy app. So it is not possible to use the BMW ConnectedDrive "Spotify App".
I've tried several attempts with all possible combinations (including reinstalling the APP), all in vain.
It would be great if the support can take care of the problem...
Hey @The-O! Welcome to the Spotify Community. ^^

Peace
I have exactly the same issue (iphone 5 iOS 10.3.3).
With a iphone Xs it work but the "Spotify" logo show bugged on the screen. I saw that they changed the font of icons...
btw: I use an original BMW SnapIn Adapter to connect the iPhone with the Entertainment sytem (ConnectedDrive). But the problem occurs during USB connection, too (direct connection between iPhone and USB port).
New today version 8.4.98 still have the issue
Edit: with an iphone XS (64 bit device) it work, but Spotify logo show bugged.
Please fix 32 bit version app (iPhone 5)
I opened an incedent ticket over the German Twitter channel yesterday. Lets wait what comes next...
@Repugnancia: did you use the BMW Spotify App or is that the new iDrive surface view?
This is the old iDrive system, my car is from 2011 (BMW CIC). If your car is from 2012 or later, probably you have newer version (BMW NBT)
But all of this is indifferent, the problem is on Spotify App in 32 bits iOS devices (iPhone 5).
iPhone 6 or later uses 64 bit iOS, and the app work fine on BMW Apps (less the logo bug i show on pic)
I hope they will solve it, because i use this iPhone 5 just for spotify on the car
Ok, you‘re right. My System is a NBT not a CIC. I also agree, that it might be a problem wit 32Bit apps. But the NBT will not recognize my xs max on USB, too. And that’s a problem for me. On the other hand my iPhone 5 is only the Spotify “bridge” to BMW’s NBT, like yours.
We just have to wait then...
I will be patient and post if i have some news.
Thanks 🙂
Hello at all, update from my side.
I’ve checked the connection with a third device from me. An IPhone 7 mit iOS 12 and usb connection.
Result: no problems. It works 100%.
Status :
iOS 10 : not working (iPhone 5 (32bit)) via snap in and usb
iOS 12 : working with iPhone > 7 / via usb /
(snapin untested)
I have exactly the same problem here. Everything working OK the last 5 years, but now Spotify is not working on Connected drive with iPhone 5 and iOS 10.3.3. It simply won’t connect, will not even show the BMW logo on the iPhone screen. I have even Restored the iPhone from zero and reinstalled Spotify. This is a phone dedicated only to Spotify in my BMW (CIC Navi). Spotify works well on iPhone 7. Please help!
