My Question or Issue
I have a lot of playlists and the update removing the ability to search when I'm adding a song to the playlist means I have to scroll through all of them to find the right playlist. Please bring the search bar back.

Hey @ac430,
Thank you for your message.
Since the screen is currently displaying just 3 items in both screenshots you sent, it's possible that the search bar was not displayed, as all the items can be seen right away. This could be compared to the functionality of the scrollbar, if you have more items than the ones you can see on the screen, the app will add a scroll bar so you can check the items above or below.
To check if this is the case, and just for testing purposes, we'd recommend creating more playlists outside the folder "my music" in order to display more than 3 items and force the bar to appear.
Also, would you mind checking on a different device (using your own account) to see if it makes any difference? If you don't have another one available, you can borrow one from a friend or family member to test it out.
Lastly, confirm in your next response if you're a beta tester to continue investigating it.
We'll be on the lookout.
Hey @ac430,
Thanks for posting in the Community.
Could you post a screenshot of where you're at in the app when looking for the search bar? Do you mean the search bar for songs or playlists? What's the app version you're using?
Keep us posted,
Cheers!
using version 8.8.43.
there used to be a search bar at the top of the page when adding a song to a playlist so you can search for a keyword in the playlist title instead of having to scroll through each one.
Hey @ac430,
Thank you for keeping in contact and for the screenshots added.
This issue could be caused by some damaged cache stored on your device that may be affecting the proper behavior of the app. In this case, we'd first recommend performing a clean reinstall of the app by following the steps in this article.
If the issue persists, it would also be great if you could have someone log in with their account on your device, such as a friend or a family member, to see if it makes any difference. This will help us understand if it could be account-related or not.
Hope this helps. We'll be on the lookout.
Hi, I tried the clean reinstall and logging in with a different account but neither showed a search bar. This screenshot is from a different Spotify account.

It worked when I added more separate playlists, thank you. Still do think it should be flagged as an issue for those who organise their playlists into folders though.
