Can't import local files

Solved!

Can't import local files

All of a sudden I can't import local files from my computer. I used to be able to just drag the file and drop it into the Spotify local files section, now when I do that, nothing happens. Is there a new way to do this?

Drag and drop is not supported in the new version.
Spotify plans to bring some features back, but it is currently not known if the feature you mentioned will be coming back.

You can still add local files to Spotify. Go into the settings and under "Local Files" you can import the source folder that contains the local files.

After you do that, the local files will appear in the "Local Files" section.

Find the song and then drag it over to a playlist.

Any idea if Spotify will be allowing the editing of track information again from Local Files?  I added a new track, which I updated the track info on from iTunes, but that updated info didn't transfer onto Spotify (so the artist name and track name are under the track name, and it has no artist associated with it).

I also would love it if Spotify would bring back letting local files be ordered based on "Recently Added".  No idea why they got rid of that feature.

Spotify has discontinued the ability to edit the metadata of local files in the new version.

If you want it back, give this idea a kudo:

If you want the date added column back, give this idea a kudo:
