Car speaker issue with iPhone and AUX cable

Car speaker issue with iPhone and AUX cable

I play Spotify on my iPhone 5 through an AUX cable to my car stereo.  I don't think it's always been this way, but when I play a track the sound is playing roughly 80% out of the passenger side speakers, with 20% through the driver side and almost zero bass through my subwoofer.

This doesn't happen from my iPod or through radio/CD/XM built into my stereo. Any idea what may cause this or a solution? At first I thought my speakers may have busted but that is not the case.

I have a very similar issue.  Music plays fine on the passenger side, nothing or very little on the driver side.  Broadcast FM radio works fine on both sides.

Hey @Tomu,

Thanks for reaching out!

It sounds to me like there might be some type of Equalizer/ Audio distribution setting at play here 🙂

Tap your profile picture and select 'Settings and privacy' -> 'Playback' and look for 'Equalizer'. Alternatively you can also use Search from the top right corner to look for the setting. Once it's located, tap on it and it should open the settings responsible for effects & sound distribution.
Feel free to play around with these settings and let us know if anything makes a difference.

If you encounter any issues or have questions, send us a screenshot of the settings you're seeing, we'll gladly take a look 🙌🏼

Keep us posted!
