Cover Arts Issues (iOS)

Solved!

Cover Arts Issues (iOS)

First, I'd like to say finally thank you for the latest iOS update. I've been out of my mind lately using Spotify with it's slowness and constent crashing. However, there are still a couple of things things I'm not quite so happy about regardings Cover Arts for songs on Spotify. (I'm using an iPhone 5 by the way)

- Local Files doesn't display their Cover Arts on iOS. This one I find especially sad since some of the Cover Arts for Local Files are pretty important to me - and also, Spotify doesn't display a Local Files playing on iOS Lock Screen

- I've also noticed that the Cover Arts on iOS for some reason have extremely low resolution (The text on the images are almost unreadable). They weren't like this before, and it really bugs me.

- I like the sort of 'glow' effect used behind the Cover Arts on iOS, but the issue is that extremely often, the incorrect 'glow' is displayed on the songs playing. This might be linked to Local Files Cover Arts not displaying, but just wanna mention it 🙂

Would be happy if these problems were looked into...

There is currently a bug with local files where it won't display album art inside the app, as well as not displaying info on the lock screen.

Low resolution album art is also a bug.

The developers are already aware of these bugs. Hopefully it will be fixed in the next udpate.

Version 2.1 is now out! All album art bugs should be fixed including the display of album art for local files.

Thanks for your patience and enjoy your album covers!

Heya!

Since this is more a feedback/bug topic than a single feature request I've moved it over here in the iOS section so it can be looked into. 😉

This bug has existed for some time now and still is not visible in the Bugs section. It that "project" again abandoned?

The fact that you can't start playing the local files from the lock screen but you can pause them is also pretty stupid, like testing is just overrated.

PS. Spotify developer communication is very poor. Maybe open dev blogs? The time taken to write up some small blog posts is really worth it. Also for yourself as a developer it makes you ask "what am I doing?" (Which is good). I know that I do not always do it, I sometimes do not even take the time to write a proper commit message, I should tho.

Sorry to necro this thread, but this issue certainly isn't 'Solved' even now, two months and one update on. It certainly shouldn't be flagged as 'Solved'.

The fact album art from local files, and local files not displaying in the lock screen is incredibly frustrating. Please don't flag things as 'Solved' when they're not.

I agree.  This is an extremely frustrating bug and it's kind of concerning to see that it hasn't been fixed over two months later.  Spotify works great when the album you want to listen to is on the service, but they really need to fix how they handle local files.

I've been finding that cover art is not being displayed even for streamed tracks (I've not tested local tracks). This is both on the lock screen and inside the app.

Having the same issue with album art no longer displaying in the iPhone app or on the lock screen for streamed tracks 😕

The app developers are aware of this and it should be fixed soon.

There is currently no exact ETA when the update will come.

Is this issue already fixed? I'm only seeing small album covers on the bottom of the screen. No cover is showing when I maximize the screen. I’m using the most recent IOS version at the moment and it doesn’t matter if I use offline of online mode.

Same issue as Sxnny here - only displays small album art on the bottom of the screen. Disappears when I maximize the screen. Used to be only for offline content I synced to my device, but seems to be happening with with all content now. It's somewhat frustrating...

I've got the same problem with premium account, does'nt matter if online or offline syncronisation.are there any solutions?

Yes, I have Premium as well...strange because all the cover art was working at first when screen was maximized...but then just stopped displaying one day...

I think only a few more have this problem too, because there is'nt much to find about it in the internet,
or nobody else cares. For me it is annoying, because I pay 10€ every month and I wan't to see the covers
in my car.

This should be fixed soon.

Good News! Thank You.😊

I''m also experiencing this bug.  Small album art in the bottom corner but disappears when maximized or on the lockscreen.  I've noticed that it is almost exclusively happening with songs that I've added (+) and not others.

I noticed that the songs added with iPhone to playlist or albums saved with iPhone have this issues.

Yesterday I added songs with drag and drop to may playlist on spotify with macbook, these coverarts are shown.

sorry, it was with iPad, not macbook

Same problem here. On iPad with 6.1 update has no artwork but then I mont having lot local files BUT here's the weird part.

When I save list for OFFLINE listning the song LOSE THE ARTWORK when maximised!!!

When I reset the iPad 3 and make the songs NOT offline the maximized artwork shows up again!

Any local file or offline songs lose the MAXIMISED artwork only not the small one though, or at least I think so far. What's happenning with the fix???
