First, I'd like to say finally thank you for the latest iOS update. I've been out of my mind lately using Spotify with it's slowness and constent crashing. However, there are still a couple of things things I'm not quite so happy about regardings Cover Arts for songs on Spotify. (I'm using an iPhone 5 by the way)
- Local Files doesn't display their Cover Arts on iOS. This one I find especially sad since some of the Cover Arts for Local Files are pretty important to me - and also, Spotify doesn't display a Local Files playing on iOS Lock Screen
- I've also noticed that the Cover Arts on iOS for some reason have extremely low resolution (The text on the images are almost unreadable). They weren't like this before, and it really bugs me.
- I like the sort of 'glow' effect used behind the Cover Arts on iOS, but the issue is that extremely often, the incorrect 'glow' is displayed on the songs playing. This might be linked to Local Files Cover Arts not displaying, but just wanna mention it 🙂
Would be happy if these problems were looked into...
Solved! Go to Solution.
I have the same issue on my iPhone(latest iOS) too.
The album arts are important to me, hope Spotify will fix it soon.
Seriously, how much longer do we have to wait until this bug is fixed? I'm usually a very patient person, and I understand there are a log of moving parts in the Spotify company that needs attending to, but it's been MONTHS since this bug was introduced. It's a pretty annoying, I have to say. I use Spotify as my main music app, which means, since I don't use the official Music app, that I have a ton of offline music loaded into Spotify. Not having artwork, song after song, becomes a tedious eyesore over time. It's especially frustrating considering I've been using Spotify for years without this issue.
The app's design is incredible, but that plain grey box is such a distraction and makes the app look bad. Hopefully this bug will finally be squashed in the next update.
It will be fixed in the next update coming soon.
Below you will see a photo of the iOS developers working as fast as they can:
Thank You. They are really busy, I see.;-)
I agree with Strodium...any songs I have saved for offline listening the album art does not display on the maxmized screen. It will only show the small album art at the bottom of the screen when minimized. I do not seem to have this problem for any songs that I am playing in online mode - the album art displays maximized and minimized. But as soon as a synced song comes on, the album art doesn't display.
Hope this helps the development team...
Version 2.1 is now out! All album art bugs should be fixed including the display of album art for local files.
Thanks for your patience and enjoy your album covers!
Thanks for the update, my covers are working correctly now.
Finally!! With the update, now I can see the cover arts both on spotify and the lock screen of my iPhone.
Thanks, It was a long wait 😄
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I'm still having issues with my cover art. I do see improvements with cover art that's synced offline from the app directly. As long as that song is in Spotify's catalog the artwork shows up. Where my problem comes in, and where it's been all along, is that the cover art is still not being shown for files synced from my computer (and not availbe in Spotify).
Now I do see that *some* of my local tracks do have cover art, so it seems that Spotify's team is heading in the right direction, but there's still a big descrepency in tracks that don't have art compared to ones that do. I'd say that 95% of my local tracks aren't showing cover art. It seems really random (tracks from the same album/artist will have or not have art), and I can't figure out why.
So to clarify, yes the issue about offline tracks (that are stored in Spotify's servers) not having cover art has been fixed. The issue where offline tracks I sync from my computer (that are not in Spotify's servers) are still not being shown.
----
One last bug, which doesn't bother me much but was introduced with this latest update, is that when a track with art is played before a track that doesn't...the previous track's artwork will stil be shown. For example, if I play a Coldplay song then the next track to play is a Radiohead song from my computer (that doesn't have artwork in Spotify) then I will still see Coldplay's album cover while the Radiohead track is playing. Spotify has never done this before, so I know this is a glitch from the current update.
For me, album art is showing for all of my local files. I'll keep an eye out for more reports if anyone else is still not getting album art.
Same here, I'm using MINI Connected, and it's exactly the same issue as yours. Coverart works fine on my iPhone 6+, but it's not displaying on car display.
It still doesn't work. The album covers of my iTunes songs look perfect on the iMac app, but on the iPhone there is no way for them to show up. Too bad. I hope it gets fixed eventually. Is sad to look to a black screen when playing songs. Specially when some of the album covers are so beautiful.
