Data Usage iPhone 7

Data Usage iPhone 7

Dear community,

Since I use my iPhone 7 my data usage is extremely high! In four days I used about 850+- MB.

What did I do?
Since I have a 128GB iPhone I saved all my playlist offline (about 1000 songs), deactivated download through mobile carrier, and still my Spotify uses a lot of data. This morning about 100MB!

What can cause this problem? How do I solve it? In my opinion I saved all my playlists offline so there should be a usage of 0 MB. A little usage is OK, but this is strange in my opinion.

I have excatly the same issue.. please answer and provide a bug fixe

Still not any answer from Spotify

Also having the same issue.  Luckily I noticed it last month before it bumped me over the data allowance.  10.1 GBs of data used in less than a month just from Spotify alone.  iPhone 7 128GB.

Spotify, help us out!  I've been with you guys since 2010 as a premium user.  Please, for the love of all that is holy, don't make me go to Apple Music.

darn that's a lot of data. still waiting for Spotify to reply.

Same problem for me too. Using loads of data despite only playing playlists which I've fully downloaded.

I'm having the same problem with an iPhone 6

Same Problem for me. iPhone 7+ 128g

I am having the same problem and have paid double my mobile bills for the last two months since I got my iphone 7.  Tonight I reset my statistics and used 688 MB streaming for 2 hours 😐  Spotify needs to respond with a fix.  I've been a premium user for a few years now, but considering switching to another service like Apple Music if they can't fix this.

I don't have this problem, using an iPhone 6 and a 7.

Go to Settings, Mobile data, uncheck Spotify.

This way Spotify can't use mobile data, only wifi.

This is not a good solution for me, if you want to be online when you're
listening to offline song for example or If you want to add some songs on
playlist it's not possible when the data is turned off, for the moment I've
discarted my premium account on Spotify because I don't want to pay for
something that doesn't work properly..

Then you can enable mobile data for Spotify, add music to your playlist and disable mobile data for Spotify again.
Or add music using wifi.
Not ideal, but it works.

Sure that may be a workaround to prevent a super high phone bill, but Spotify should correct this because it was not always this way. I found that Spotify used less data than the other apps I used which was the reason I decided to get premium in the first place.

Here is the reply I've received from Spotify the 5 November, I didn't received any news after this..

"Hello again Samuel!

Thanks for sending us the requested information.

We’re currently looking into this and we will get back to you once we have some more information.

In the meantime, let us know if there’s anything else we can help with.
All the best,

"

I also get this, and have turned off data and it still uses it, even in offline mode, i have gone well over my data limits because of this!

only happened after i changed from prem to family prem.

Think it might be time to move to apple music, this is costing me too much and spotify are not responding, so no chance of a refund!

cant leave a review as it says i dont own this product.... poor service spotify

If you turn off mobile data for the app and it still consumes data, then there is something wrong with your phone and/or operating system, not with the app.

only app that does this though... and only since i changed from prem to family prem... same phone same app same OS only thing that changed was i gave spotify $5 more a month.

Only the app can overide the OS settings.
also look how many others are having similar issues...
