Difference between Saving tracks and adding to playlists

Difference between Saving tracks and adding to playlists

Apologies if this has already been asked elsewhere, but I'm unable to find an answer.

I noticed that when I hit 'Save' next to a song its then added to my iPhone's (iPhone 6s iOS 10.1) memory, as opposed to the song being marked as 'liked' ala Facebook. But instead if I add the song to a playlist, its conveniently saved to a list without the song being actually saved to the iPhone.  Is this correct?

Will adding tracks to playlists rather than saving them, save memory on my iPhone?

Hi @Zero31, and welcome to the community!

You're correct - saving songs will save them offline in your device.

Adding them to playlists will not take any space in your device. They won't be available offine, though.

Let me know if you need further help 🙂
