Every week it deletes all my songs

Every week it deletes all my songs

It happens randomly, but at least once a week: all my download switches get unselected and all my songs are gone on my iPhone 6 running the latest iOS 10. Every week, I have to reselect them all. This has happened at least five times in the past few weeks.

 

I tried reinstalling it, deleting the app from my Mac, even restoring the whole iPhone. And it keeps happening. It has always happened esporadically (something like every three or four months), but now it's every frickin' week.

 

This is goodbye from a two-year-old user. Hello Apple Music, long time no see.

Just to check, are you referring to Local Files or to saving music in Offline Mode?

If you're having some difficulty holding your downloaded music in Offline Mode on the iOS device, we'd suggest checking out the steps under “Downloads unexpectedly removed” in this article. They should help with this.

If it's to do with Local Files, let us know. We'd like you to try checking the Local Files settings within your desktop app, seeing what Sources you have enabled, and by checking the location of the files on your desktop device.

 

You also might need to rename the files exactly to how they appear elsewhere online for them to match up and sync with the app.

Sorry to hijack someone else's post, but this happens to me frequently. I've had to re-download up to 2500 songs to my iPhone at least 3 times in the last few months. Yesterday I stupidly still had my allow cellular download enables and I chewed 4GB of my data.

The link you provided does not help. I see many posts about this issue across the message boards but no real fix.

If you've checked out the steps here under downloads unexpectedly removed, and this is still happening, can you confirm:

1) Do you notice albums desyncing, but playlists remaining downloaded?

2) Which exact device, operating system, and version of Spotify are you currently using?
