Hi. I have google cast audio setup at my home. I cant play in the groups to use the multiroom function with Spotify. When i use tidal and other music Apps it works fine but not with Spotify. What can i do? I use Apple products. Thanks, hope somebody can help me. I want to use Spotify and not the other apps but if it doesnt works i have to change to one of the other streaming apps 😩
Hey,
Can you please elaborate some more on your setup and problem? Do you see the Cast group in the mobile app but cannot connect? What devices are in the group?
/magnus
I have one Philips soundbar with Google Cast and a Sony speaker with google Cast. And both Of Them have Spotify connect. And Yes i Can see the speakers in Spotify app but not the group i have made. And Yes i Can use the speakers but not as a group
My soundbar: Philips HTL5160
Sony speaker: SRS-X77
Ok, there is currently an issue with showing speakers that have both Cast and Connect. It should be fixed in a upcoming release in iOS. Sorry about this.
I have the same problem as described above. My setup is the following:
- Philips HTL 5160 soundbar
- JBL Playlist speaker
Both knows Spotify Connect and Google Cast. I set up a group in Google Home, but I can't see the group in the Spotify iOS app. I can stream content to the group from other apps. Interestingly, Spotify lets me choose between Spotify Connect and Google Cast for the speaker but not for the soundbar.
Is there an ETA for fixing the group issue?
Hey bandi18,
Can you please specify which version of Spotify iOS?
Also it would be super if you could attach screen shots the device menu in Spotify and other app so we understand your setup.

Hi Magnus,
Thanks for the quick response!
I have the latest version of Spotify iOS which is 8.4.46. I created a Cast group called Everywhere. The group appears in other apps:
But I can't see the group in Spotify:
As you can see, the app lets me choose between Connect and Cast for the speaker but the menu is missing from the soundbar. The selection works fine for the speaker:
Actually, this is not a problem for me because I prefer Connect when I use one speaker. The problem is that I can't use multiple speakers from Spotify.
I hope the screenshots will help.
