Have Spotify Premium for Family But My Wife and I Can't Listen at Same Time

Hi,

I have Spotify Premium for Family but my wife and I can't listen to Spotify through our iPhones if the other one is listening. We each get a notification indicating that the other is listening. 

 

I thought the whole purpose of Spotify for Family was to allow each of us to have an individual account.

 

Any suggestions?

Hey Indesteve! Welcome to the community!

 

Hmm... Sorry for this late reply. To use Premium for Family, every family member should have their own account. The family-'leader' (the one who pays for the subscription) is able to add people to the family using e-mail.

 

The family members will receive an e-mail with a link and a code after being invited. When they click the link, there are options to log in into an existing account or to create a new account. After they are authenticated they are added to the Spotify Family and everyone should login using their own credentials on their own devices!

Actually...I just upgraded to family but my phone has my account listed as Premium. Could this be the problem? I logged out and back in hoping the account would change to Premium for Family, but it didn't.

...but where do I find their credentials (or at least usernames) if they lose them?
