How do I stop shuffling my playlists? I want them to play in order. What do I do?

I have an iphone 5 and am using the app on my phone. I have a premium account, but I don't see the "i" symbol. I can however see the universal "shuffle" sign and have it on grey. It still keeps shufflng! Please help me!

If you are on the free plan, there is no way to turn off shuffle.

If you are on the premium plan you can turn off shuffle by doing this:

I tried that but it didn't work. Perhaps it's because I was using my husband's account on my iphone and it somehow knew it wasn't me...

This problem does not go away just because you repeat the answer. It DOES NOT WORK. I have an iPhone 6+, Spotify Premium, and there is NO "i" on the screen. Turning off Shuffle is impossible. If this does not get fixed soon, I will need to cancel my subscription.

This is absolutely insane. The iOS app's User Experience is a total nightmare. It is extremely confusing and difficult to know how to turn off shuffle, way too many clicks. Not only that, even when shuffle is turned off, the app decides to randomly jump to different tracks anyway. Very buggy. But why in God's name when you go to a playlist is there a huge green button at the top of the view that says "Shuffle Play"? Why is that the only option? Why not two buttons or one "Play" button with a shuffle toggle? Not only that, the Shuffle Play button should at least change colors. Why do you have to go to a different view with an extra 2 clicks in order to see if shuffle is on? Who designs this stuff? Do they actually use the product? This shuffle bug is so frustrating. Surely Apple Music's interface can't be this bad.

I am new to Spotify, and this "Shuffle by default" on my iPhone is INSANE! No other music app takes this approach. If I am to stay with this service, the big green SHUFFLE button has to go, or I will. There are other services available to choose from, and not being able to choose PLAY is a deal breaker. This is nuts!

Just another reason for me NOT wanting to join the Premium version. Taking options away from Free Version somehow makes people think that we will all jump to join! Wrong. It makes Spotify seem pushy, not trustworthy and cheap. I was going to join Premium but never heard back to one simple email question! Spotify seems to care about Spotify and the hell with it' s customers. Gee, let's see, how many people are dying to join or upgrade in a company when they feel forced to, or pushed into it or pretty soon the Free Version will only offer 30 sec of songs. I'm glad I haven't joined now. You offer less and less while pushing more and more,and more!

You cannot stop it on the phone. The free version does not give you the choice. It is on shuffle mode by default. But you can click on the "shuffle" icon to toggle between shuffle on /off on the ipad.

Yes it tuns it on but not OFF ???

OK Ok, i know, so you go to the playing number to switch off the shuttle and yes i have a premium account and sometimes it works....

It is super irritating with classical music, a symphony or piano concerto, shuttling around is ridiculous.

What I realy don't understand is that the develloper can live with something like this....... this should have a top priority for him as it is REALLY annoying. The green button must be programmed: ON/OFF SHUTTLE

I'm not sure what you tried. Click on this; he has posted a very clear answe with a picture. But, I read that only paid Spotify users can turn off shuffle. If you have paid, click this link and it should help.

I have premium and no matter what I do I cannot play an album on my iPad. Tried everything suggested and it just don't work. Rubbish!

When you say it will not play do you mean not at all or not in sequence?

Are you a subscriber? This will only happen in the free version, unless you subscribe you cannot turn off shuffle.
