My Question or Issue

So I downloaded 18 songs using an mp3 converter to my laptop and I added them to my playlist. I can play them fine on my laptop however I can’t find them anywhere in my playlist on my iPhone. If I play the song on my laptop and open Spotify on my phone, then it says “Song Not Downloaded, if you own the song, you can sync it from your computer. How exactly do I sync it with my computer? I also don’t have Spotify premium. Any help would be appreciated

Hi @Dealdady,

Thanks for posting in the Spotify Community!

To sync local files from one device to another, it is necessary to have a Premium subscription. You can read about how to sync local files to a mobile device in this Spotify Answer as well as in this support article.

Hi @Dealdady,

Thank you for your reply, and for sending this screenshot.

The local files setting that shows up in your screenshot is as expected with a free plan on an iPhone.

Bear in mind that although Spotify users can listen to local files on a desktop device while on a free plan, it is necessary to have Premium in order to use local files on a mobile device.
